Neuroendovascular

Neuroendovascular therapy is a subspecialty within the fields of interventional radiology and neurosurgery that treats complex conditions of the brain such as stroke, aneurysm and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). With the availability of this advanced capability in Portland, patients have 24/7 access to time sensitive treatments. Our team of fellowship-trained neuroendovascular specialists provides responsive, sophisticated care that consistently saves lives and dramatically minimizes disability.

Our neuroendovascular specialists treat these life-threatening conditions using minimally invasive techniques. By threading tiny microcatheters through arteries and veins, the interventionalist can treat blocked or burst blood vessels from the inside rather than through traditional "open" surgery. This technique eliminates incisions, offers effective treatment with fewer complications than conventional surgery, shortens recovery time and, ultimately, can yield better long-term outcomes.

The neuroendovacular service offers comprehensive care, supported by the Neuroscience Institute's Neurocritical Care and Stroke programs.
